Rodrigue Vanhoutte is an artist who wants to go beyond the image. He dissolves it in order to achieve the purpose of any creator: the sacred. The body is the receptacle of the world. He touches on the deepest of the sensitive by constant control of the material. “

F. Speranza

" (…) Minimum of color, minimum of virtuosity, it is clear today that I worked by subtraction. No clothing, no face, no objects, and I decided to remove the backgrounds. I paint the remains the body or rather a summary of the body alone.  A moment like a spasm. How to find a plastic equivalent relevant to this single solitude of the human of today?  (...) The decomposition of the human body to mere indications, are part of my design. From the reality I keep only the essential, or better yet, the Essence.  I consciously appeal to the sensitivity of the viewer, to tell that truth that he seems to not even consider it. And when he talks about the emancipation of his own vision, he does it with disdain for all those who still focus on painting 'everything', like a simple photographic illusion of tangible reality (...)"
